Acupuncture Clinic in Brisbane

Next Level Health offers practised acupuncture therapies at our West End clinic, which can help you treat diseases and improve your health. Our practitioners are qualified at providing a range of treatments to people of all age groups.

In most medical practices, balance is the key to achieving good health. The traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) ideal, which considers unified organ function and smooth “qi” or “chi” flow throughout the body, is similar in this approach.

Acupuncture treatment at our West End clinic, in Brisbane, is based around your specific needs. Therapies focus on the stimulation of acupuncture points and meridians on specific areas of the body using sterilised pre-packaged needles, electric currents, moxibustion, cupping and Chinese remedial massage.

The emphasis on TCM is based on treatment as a preventative measure. This is best achieved by encouraging the body’s natural defences and self-healing to treat the root of the disease.

Acupuncture treatment is widely acknowledged in the management of pain and musculoskeletal disorders however, by utilising a holistic approach to illness, it is recognised as being effective in the treatment of digestive, respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, immune, gynaecological, urological and psychological disease.

Children respond well to acupuncture treatment and Chinese remedial massage. Their immune and digestive systems are still developing and are prone to dysfunction. However, this also reflects the ease and quickness in which they can recover. Some of the paediatric conditions which are manageable through TCM include, cough, allergies, asthma, headaches, fever, digestive upset and sleeping problems.

A person holding the title of Acupuncturist in Australia has completed a minimum 4 year Bachelor of Health Science, often with a Masters level qualification in Chinese Herbs or other specialites. This is a degree with dual focus on Chinese and Western pathology, Biomedical Science, Pharmacology and a minimum of 400 hrs of practical clinical experience on members of the public under supervision of registered acupuncturists.

All practicing Acupuncturists are required to have proven equivalent qualification and be registered by the government to use the title of Acupuncturist in Australia. For more information or to check that your Acupuncturist is registered visit the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia.

Please be aware this is a level of training and expertise significantly different than the practice of dry needling utilised for muscular release (as practiced by Physiotherapists, Chiropractors, Osteopaths and Remedial Massage Therapists), which is generally a weekend course.
